STILLNESS

Synopsis

Residents of the quiet, little Canal street in a small village in northwestern Vojvodina live their everyday lives remembering their lives filled with laughter, children’s play and friendship. This film draws a parallel between the once idyllic past history of the residents and their current confrontation with the phenomenon of the dying community within which they spent their whole lives. Lydia introduces us to this world through her story of what once was, she takes us back to the place where she grew up, in order to face her own losses. Her story reveals a forgotten world, kept alive by a few remaining residents and their determination to forever be a part of it.
