Simón Casal was born in A Coruña in 1984. He works as a screenwriter, director, and producer. He made his first feature film as a director, Lobos Sucios (2016), a story set in the tungsten mines in Galicia during the Second World War. He also worked in the field of documentary in pieces such as The Gourougou Trial, in which he addresses the history of an international trial at the Strasbourg Court that pitted two African migrants against the Spanish State. Casal discussed the legality of hot returns in Melilla, which continue to be produced today. In 2024, he directed AI Justice (Justicia Artificial), a documentary written with the philosopher Miguel Penas about the possibility of implementing artificial intelligence technologies in the administration of justice.
