ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project aims to give a new perspective to Stari Sajmište and revive the memory of it.
WALK WITH FIREFLIES
Working in small groups alongside four artists from Germany and Serbia, the participants conceptualized, filmed, and edited audiovisual collages, staged performances, and created light installations and spatial interventions, thereby reconstructing the history of Staro Sajmište.
APPLICATION AND READER
Every project created during the workshops will take their final form within a multimedia mobile application. Presented as a multimedia walk, the participants’ work will be accessible to high school students and their teachers, while future visitors will be able to use the app to see, learn about, and experience the tragic past of Staro Sajmište from the perspective of young people in the here and now.
PARTNER AND FIRENDS
The “Light of Fireflies” project is implemented by the Free Zone Film Festival with the support of the Remembrance, Responsibility and Future (EVZ) Foundation and in collaboration with the B92 Fund Foundation (Free Zone Junior program), the Center for Applied History, the Association for Social History – Euroclio, the independent theater troupe Spreeagenten from Berlin, and the Center for Digital Systems at Freie Universität Berlin.
